The Medical Specialists Center's state-of-the art laboratory
provides comprehensive diagnostic tests useful in conformation of diagnosis,
monitoring and follow-up of various diseases. The laboratory was
established in 1978. It was prviously located at Bur Dubai and shifted to a new
location along with the clinics in 2001. The laboratory is equipped with
the best instruments in the field of clinical chemistry,Haematology,
Microbiology and Histopathology. A fully interfaced computer system is in place
to help ensure accurate and timely laboratory results.
Strict qulity control procedure are in place. Daily,
three levels controls are run and a record is kept, and corrective steps are
taken when deviations are noted. We intend to participate shortly in External
quality control programs. Periodic review of methodology, equipment upgrade and
addition of new diagnostic test is passionately pursued.
The Laboratory services are available 24 hours a day
and 365 days a year. The laboratory is staffed with senior technologists
and headed by a senior Labortary director. Turn-around time for patient's test
results is strictly monitored and in most of the investigations, the results
are available while patient waits for a short time, thus it avoids the need for
a second visit for consulation and treatment. The center and the laboratory is
on the approval list of most of the insurance companies due to its efficient
and affordable services to all sectors of the society.
The laboratory charges are reasonable and most competitive. Due considerations
are given to the deserving and needy patients. The laboratory is equipped to
perform all routine tests and most of the specialized tests. Some exceptionally
rare tests are referred to the laboratories having expertise in specialized
field like genetics and molecular biology.
